Junk removal in Turlock

Turlock has its own garbage company and the smallest free bulky allowance of any town Jake covers. Here's what it includes, where it stops, and where to take a load yourself.

Covers ZIPs 95380 and 95382: Turlock.

What your Turlock garbage service already covers

Turlock Scavenger collects Turlock's garbage under a city franchise that runs to 2043.

  • One large bulky item, once a calendar year, free for single-family homes. Book by phone at least two weeks ahead; it's collected on your regular day.
  • A 95-gallon green waste cart, collected weekly.
  • Loose-leaf pickup in the street from November 2, 2026 to February 5, 2027. Leaves only, no bags.

Where it runs out

One item a year doesn't go far.

  • A second couch, a stack of boxes or a garage cleanout isn't covered by the free item.
  • Apartments and other homes that aren't single-family don't get the free item.
  • The county's two-pickup program only covers unincorporated areas, not addresses inside the city.

Hauling it yourself? Here's where it goes

When it makes sense to call Jake

When it's more than one item, a full garage or a move-out, or when you'd rather not wait two weeks. Jake and his crew carry it out and load it, priced by the cubic yard and usually within the week. Anything that still works gets donated.

When calling Jake is the wrong call

If it's a single couch or appliance and you haven't used this year's free item, call Turlock Scavenger at (209) 668-7274 first. The city also runs a free dump day for residents (this year's was October 10).

Checked October 2026 against the City of Turlock, its 2023 garbage franchise agreement and Stanislaus County's rate pages. Rules, dates and prices change, so confirm with the operator before you go.
